Coastal Counseling Associates mission is to provide personalized, high-quality behavioral health counseling on an as-needed or preventative basis. We have created a practice that we believe in and strive to achieve the best possible outcomes for our clients.
We are a full-service psychotherapy practice of dedicated, experienced clinicians who believe in working with our patients to maintain wellness and improve their mental health. We work together to serve your entire family for all of your behavioral health needs in all stages of life. Our therapists believe in providing comprehensive counseling services to our patients in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. We also believe in educating our patients as we work with them and encourage active feedback and goal planning.
Each therapist is certified by their individual professional trade organizations and comes to our practice with years of experience in their area of specialty. Our State of Connecticut licensed practitioners when appropriate prefer to consult with individual's primary care physicians while working with each patient in order to provide informed, consistent care at all times.

Ms Kasprow graduated from Fairfield University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. Following graduation she worked in the human services field for five years before returning to school to pursue a graduate degree.In 1987 she received her MSW form Indiana State University with a concentration in mental health. She has been in practice for nineteen years. As both a Certified School Social Worker, and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Laura's approaches are Solution Focused Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Strategies and interventions are developed together to achieve both short and long term goals. While Laura's focus of practice is counseling children and adolescents, she also works with couples and families. Ms Kasprow is a member of the National Association of Social Workers.
Dr. Pfeifer received a PhD from Purdue University, and completed a postdoctoral clinical internship at Norwich Hospital. His experiences are diverse, include working for the State of Connecticut, and private groups. ;Dr. Pfeifer currently focuses on the treatment of adults, couples and families. He provides treatment in Brief Solution Focused Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. One niche of his private practice focuses on alternative forms of conflict resolution. He works as a trained Mediator to assist in the resolution of matters such as divorce, business, and interpersonal impasse. He is also a mental health specialist trained in Collaborative Divorce, and is an associate in the professional practice pod Divorce Solutions of Connecticut. Dr. Pfeifer assists separating or divorcing parents as a certified Parent Coordinator. Dr. Pfeifer assists parents in the drafting and implementation of parenting plans. He is a member of the American Psychological Association.
Ms Robbins graduated from Catholic University of America in Washington D.C. with a masters degree in social work with a concentration in family therapy. Sheila has been a licensed therapist for over fifteen years. Her experience includes counseling children and adolescents, as well as adults and families. Her practice interventions include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and working within the Brief Solution Focused Model. Sheila also provides coaching services to those who are experiencing transition such as divorce or separation, blending of families, conflict resolution, family restructuring, parenting support, and issues around grief and loss. She is an active member of the National Association of Social Workers.
Mrs. Nereo Nagle received her MSW from UConn School of Social Work at the same time she was raising her family. She has over twenty-six years of experience working in the non-profit sector, providing treatment in the child guidance division.Her practice now focuses on work with adolescents, adults and families to assist them in addressing some of life's more compelling challenges-loss of spouse,the empty nest, divorce and infertility, adolescent concerns, depression and anxiety related issues. Mrs. Nereo Nagle is committed to creating strategies and plans with her clients to achieve the most promising and achievable results. She brings skills of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Brief Solution Focused Therapy, and also embraces alternative interventions such as mindfulness and life-style changes.
Kelsey Doyle received her BSN at the University of Delaware and MSN at Fairfield University with a specialty in mental health. She is board certified in Psychiatric Mental Health Practitioner since her graduation from Fairfield.She has been a inpatient registered nurse for several years and an adjunct professor teaching clinical skills to undergraduate nursing students. She is an active member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She is also a current member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association. Kelsey is currently our medication evaluation specialist in collaboration with our therapists and other referring professionals.
